History Night, Sisson Museum, April 3
The Sisson Museum is located at the historic fish hatchery in Mt. Shasta and they are opening their 2009 season with their annual fund-raiser, History Night. Tickets are only $15 and they can be had at Village Books and the Chamber of Commerce, both in Mt. Shasta, as well as at the door.
The main exhibit will feature the Italian American influence in our area and several other new displays. One of those will be an exhibit featuring the B24 bomber that crashed here in 1943 and which I have written about in this column.
I will be giving a short talk about the incident and several members of our team have donated their time to put our artifacts on display for your enjoyment. It will be modest in size but heavy with significance as we hope to dedicate it with a plaque to the six who perished.
Wine will be sold by the glass and raffle tickets for valuable prizes will also be available for only a buck.
So mark your planners . . . that's 6:30 Friday night April 3.
See you there.
Bruce
